Finally
the DUCK RACES. The Highlight of the afternoon for some!

In
each race 10 highly competitive (and numbered) and inactive ducks meandered
there way down the course, having been very fairly released all at the same time
from the start point.
These action shots were taken with high speed film to catch the action as they
sped by.............
The start was close to the old mill house
And the banks of the 'track' were lined with spectators. After several elimination heats, the finals were run and an outright winner declared. He looked rather bemused by the celebrity ..
and by the prize of a rather magnificent model duck!
The duck racing was followed by an afternoon of games
And the afternoon and evening was spent in the grounds, enjoying food from the Barbeque (thanks due to Bill and Joy Laurie) and listening to an excellent Rock and Roll
An excellent day. Many thanks to the organizers, to the Cavans for the use of the Old Mill, and all others who made the day possible!
